MyCityLives aims to change the way people tell the world and each other about their city. They tasked us with producing relevant content that would grow their user base and establish them as the new hub for bold urban storytelling. We created over 50 short web videos that told the stories of the people, places and events that make Toronto the city we know and love.

But first, an introduction to MyCityLives. To kick off the launch of the website and to get the public acquainted with the new platform, we created this video to show the potential of map based video sharing.

We then got to work in the city. We had lots of videos to make. Everything from the biggest landmarks to the most obscure shops and restaurants. Although making 50 videos is a lot of storytelling to take on for one company, we found there to be no shortage of inspiration in our big city. This video is a tribute to an age old Toronto tradition.

In some cases, timing was of the essence and we strived to beat the 6 O'clock news to the punch with richer, bolder, more sharable content. The morning after Nuit Blanche, everyone in the city was looking for photos, videos and stories of the evening festivities. We wanted the MyCityLives story to stand out amongst all the clutter, and we had to be fast. This video was shot the night of Nuit Blanche, edited immediately after shooting and deployed by sunrise when the content was relevant and high in demand. Part art film, part journalism.

In total, our videos lead to over 200,000 views for MyCityLives.
